Vision Weekend Recap

What a weekend!

I hope you had the opportunity to join us for Vision Weekend! But if not, here’s a quick recap.

It was a joy to celebrate some incredible milestones together, including:

  • 205 Baptism.
  • 115 Grow Groups.
  • 71 Multiplier Groups.

These numbers are a testament to what God has done in and through our church. But even more exciting than looking back is anticipating what’s ahead!

I’m so thankful that we serve a God who is always on the move, and as His church, we have the privilege of moving with Him. The coming year will bring its own challenges, but we’re more than ready to embrace the call to Invest and Invite.

The church is never more like Jesus than when it looks beyond itself–seeking to love and reach those outside of grace, community, and the safety of His flock.

To do that, we must see with the eyes of Jesus. Matthew 9 says:

“36When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.”

Seeing the world through Jesus’ eyes changes everything.

Why? Because when Jesus saw people this way, He didn’t just feel compassion–He gave His disciples a mission. In the very next verse, He says:

“37Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; 38 therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.””

I love that we serve a God who doesn’t just see and feel, He acts. When Jesus was moved by compassion, He was moved to discipleship.

And in case you haven’t realized it yet, we are the workers He was talking about. We are the answer to that prayer!

That is the heartbeat behind Invest & Invite.

That we would see people as Jesus sees them. That we would love them as He loves them. That we would pour into their lives, their needs, hurts, and hopes, so we can invite them toward a healing relationship with Him.

If that invitation is to church–great!

If that invitation is to a small group–fantastic!

If that invitation is to your home, a coffee shop, a time of prayer, or a one-on-one Bible study–hallelujah!

I pray that God gives you the eyes of Jesus, that you begin to see the world as He does. And when you do, I pray it moves you to invest your life in others and invite them to take their next step with Jesus.

Vision Weekend was incredible, but what’s even greater is watching that vision change the future.

CrossPoint Liberal

We are in awe of all that the Lord has done in Liberal! In just three short years, God has nearly doubled—almost tripled—our weekly attendance. With around 20 baptisms each year, we’ve witnessed individuals publicly declare their faith and embark on a new journey with Christ. These are more than just numbers; they represent real, life-changing stories of people experiencing the love, grace, and salvation found in Jesus. We praise God for the launch of two new Grow Groups this year. It’s been incredible to see individuals who were just attending a year or so ago now becoming active partners in the ministry, serving, and even leading. A culture of discipleship is truly taking root!

As we reflect on all that God has done, we are filled with gratitude and anticipation for the future. The harvest is plentiful, but Jesus has equipped us with everything we need to put our hands to the plow and make disciples in southwest Kansas. We believe the best is yet to come, and we are excited to continue reaching and loving our community!

Join us in prayer:

  • Pray that our church would embrace the challenge to Invest & Invite someone as we prepare for a big Easter season.
  • Pray that God would stir up generous hearts within our church, leading us to give sacrificially.
  • Pray that God would raise up tech volunteers to serve in that vital ministry.

Becoming a Kingdom Multiplier

Matthew 28:19-20

19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Many of us know these verses as “The Great Commission.” It certainly is! As followers of Jesus, we are commanded and invited into a “coworker” relationship with God. To be fair, we have a lot of biblical identities. The Bible calls all believers children of God, friends of God, coheirs with Christ, and the list goes on. None of these identities should be neglected but our identity as servants of and coworkers with Jesus can’t be ignored.

Of course, as coworkers, God does all the heavy lifting! Yet, in His great power He invites us to play a role in His plan. A part in His story. At its core, the Great Commission is telling us that He wants us to take initiative to share the Good News of Jesus with others just like someone has shared it with us. Only God can save souls and change hearts but we can share that message!

Here’s the problem: we feel insecure, inadequate, and unqualified. Those feelings are very real but they shouldn’t stop us from participating in the greatest rescue mission planet earth has ever seen. It’s time we get serious about our role in God’s great plan.

As we think about the phrase “make disciples” we often don’t know where to start. It’s hard to define. It’s hard to measure. It’s hard to know where to start. For us, to make disciples means we help people follow Jesus. We help others to take their next step in the direction of Jesus. Sometimes that next step can be as simple as opening our hearts to God. It could mean a willingness to even talk about God. Or it could mean opening the Bible for the first time. Some steps are small and some are big but all steps are valuable. Any and all of us can help the people around us move in the direction of Jesus if we are intentional.

So where should we start? First, let's ask ourselves a couple of questions. Who am I willing to help move towards Jesus? How will I intentionally do that? Are the people I minister to ministering to other people? The goal is to make disciples that make disciples. To multiply disciples we have to first make a disciple and then encourage them to make other disciples.

Next steps: As you contemplate these questions, spend time praying. Ask God to bring people to mind. Ask Him to do a spiritual work in their hearts. Ask God for opportunity, intentionality and courage. As leaders, know that it is our job and our joy to equip you. Please reach out to your Location Pastor so they can encourage, equip, and pray for you. Slowly but surely the Kingdom of God will multiply!

Scripture Memory

As part of our 2025 Reading Plan, we are encouraging the practice of scripture memory. In an effort to support you and your family in this process, we have created scripture memory songs which can be listened to on the CrossPoint App.

As we memorize scripture together, we hope these songs will help you draw nearer to Jesus as you spend time meditating on His word.
